Covered with hair; set with bristles; shaggy; hairy.
i.e. the sasquatch/yeti . . . makes the rounds of the clubs "disguised" in trench coat and broad-brimmed hat, hoping (successfully, it seems) to be mistaken for a rather hirsute human.
another example would be . . . . . . B walking down the street hoping to not be mistaken for an extremely HIRSUTE sasquatch.
